About the Project
With its 26 floors, Antwerp Tower is the city's tallest residential building, situated in a prime location next to the Opera House and near both Central Station and the Meir.
Upon completion, the base of the building will house stores, restaurants and office space, while the tower itself will contain a total of 240 apartments. The extensive floor plan of the tower made it possible to create loggias in each apartment, making it possible to live outside in the center of the city - for example, an intimate dinner with a group of friends, on the loggia. The facade of the building is finished with huge, custom-made, polished concrete elements, up to 9 m long in some places, to minimize the visual facade patterns. Unlike the building at the time of its completion in 1974 - with its gold-tinted, reflective windows and its repeating bands of exposed concrete parapets - the new iteration of the tower features transparent, nonreflective, non-tinted windows that are much larger in scale than the previously used windows, which do not have a center post.
