About the Project
The new public broadcaster building will be a horizontal building with two stacked volumes. The first volume consists of one floor with a spacious, inviting reception area, an event space of 500 m², a company restaurant, three large television studios and logistical work spaces. On top of that comes the second volume, which consists of three work floors built around five inner gardens with adjoining terraces. The news studio and five radio studios are located here, and it is also very easy to create media because everyone is close to each other for collaboration and consultation. The new VRT building is integrated into its natural surroundings and has a limited ecological footprint by using good insulation and heating with recovered heat and heat pumps. There are a further 2,300 m² of solar panels on the roof to support the facility.
